The Girl Behind the Gloss

Hi, I’m Alexis! I’m so happy you’ve stumbled across my little corner of the internet. I’ve built my business around helping people feel good and comfy, even when they're getting a service that can sometimes be a little uncomfy. I’m here to make self-care fun and stress-free! Whether you're trying to tackle that first Brazilian, achieve dewy skin, or the perfect brows, my goal is simple: good vibes, happy skin, and a space where you can truly be yourself.

How did it all start?

My estie journey technically started in 2016, but my roots go way deeper. My mom, Debbie, has been wielding scissors since before I was born. Growing up as a hairdresser's daughter, I spent countless after-school hours and summer breaks at the salon. When I wasn't sweeping hair or flipping through beauty magazines, I was soaking up all the magic. My mom is my biggest inspiration, and she truly is that person. Her loyalty, hustle, and heart are the reasons I do what I love today, but she didn’t just teach me how to run a business; she taught me how to build relationships and create a space where people feel safe and genuinely cared for.

It’s been a wild, beautiful ride.

My first career started at my uncle’s silkscreen printing shop. I spent over a decade immersed in the world of design, production, and small business operations. I became a self-taught graphic designer, learned how to bring ideas to life on apparel and merchandise, and gained invaluable experience in what it takes to run a family business. Growing up surrounded by entrepreneurs showed me that building something of my own was possible, and in my heart, I knew someday that I wanted to carve out my own path too.

After getting married, my husband encouraged me to chase my dream. With his support, I enrolled in Paul Mitchell the School’s esthetics night program in 2016. I worked full-time during the day and hit the books at night, determined to make it happen. It wasn’t the easy route, but it laid the foundation for me to step into the beauty industry with passion and grit.

Plot twist: I found out I was pregnant (baby #1) just weeks before graduation. Life had other plans, and dreams were put on pause. Fast forward to 2019, and baby #2 arrived. In need of a more flexible schedule, I left my job at the print shop to pursue my solo dream career full-time. Things were rolling along until the universe sent a pandemic AND baby #3 my way. Because why not? Five years, three daughters, and a global pandemic later, I was finally able to soar.

Starting my own business was really only possible because of my husband. He believes in me even when I’m still figuring things out, and I’m endlessly grateful for that kind of love. He’s my rock, my hero, and the one who taught me what it means to show up when things get hard and how far a strong work ethic can take you. Those lessons are now woven into everything I do, in business, family, and life.

Why sugaring?

It's gentle on the skin, better for the planet, and honestly... kind of magical. I fell in love with it and haven’t looked back. Sugaring is my specialty, especially when it comes to Brazilians. I know hair removal isn’t everyone’s favorite thing, but I promise to make it as painless as possible, with some good convo and maybe even a few laughs along the way. My clients often say I make them feel at ease, and honestly, it's the best compliment I could ask for.
